100% RECYCLED COTTON POLYESTER

Our 100% recycled cotton polyester is made from post consumer fabric, meaning it is made from yarns that have been woven from previously recycled fabrics. The recycled fabrics are separated by yarns and ‘pulped’ down before being restrung into new yarns to be woven. Rewound is committed to providing no newly created plastic within the business. However, within this range the recycled polyester is essential to maintain the quality of our shirts. This is because when the cotton yarn is recycled the fibres become shorter and more delicate. The recycled polyester yarn helps to bind and strengthen the yarn meaning we can produce fully recycled shirts, but at an incredibly high quality. These recycled fabrics are incredibly durable but also very soft due to their rewoven nature.

100% TENCEL

Made from the wood and cellulose of sustainably harvested eucalyptus trees, and, with up to 10 times the fibre yield per acre versus regular cotton, Tencel is a fantastic sustainable fabric option. It’s silky soft, lightweight, breathable and biodegradable. The fabric has a very natural drape to it which lends to it’s silky handle. It’s also moisture wicking and can also be hung dry with no need to iron.

LYOCELL & HEMP BLEND

Our bespoke blend of lyocell (non-branded Tencel) and hemp, and designed by co-owner David, was created to maximise the best of both of these natural biodegradable yarns. The hemp brings a linen feel to the shirt, whilst the lyocell makes it super soft and gives it an luxurious drape. Woven in a twill this fabric is perfect for both smart and casual looks. It’s slightly heavier weight than the 100% Tencel, however, the lyocell makes it just as breathable, making it a very dynamic fabric.

LYOCELL, HEMP & COTTON BLEND

Another bespoke fabric created by Rewound co-owner David, this blend is the same as the lyocell & hemp blend but with the addition of ethically sources cotton. Similarly it has a linen style texture but with a softer handle and drape. The hemp blend with the cotton gives a unique nepped feature to the fabric and also gives texture to the dye where it is taken at different depths by the different
yarns.
